PCCC bringing warmth to the old unconcerned

Kind “angels” were on their way to help the unconcerned residents.

The PCCC (Penang Chinese Chamber of Commerce) was holding an event to help out the old and unoccupied residents at the governmental residential areas of Jalan Padang Tembak on the 13th of January 2019.

Boxes of hampers containing New Year items of decorations and cooking materials were delivered to the front doors of the old residents.

Members of the PCCC and helpers from different organizations, including members from the Young Entrepreneur section and student helpers of Han Chiang University College of Communication, were present to give this event a huge help in the deliveries.

Dato’ Seri Hong Yeam Wah, the president of PCCC said that this event was planned to help those who were in need of supplies.

“We got the name list from the government so we can identify those who really needed help,” Hong said.

He added that the aim of this event is to raise awareness of the public to the knowledge of disadvantaged groups in this society.

Many receivers, mostly old and facing difficulties in moving around, were being seen a pleasant smile on their faces, as they understood that being given these supplies will be a great aid especially for the upcoming New Year times.

“We are very thankful and happy that the PCCC and the Young Entrepreneur section can deliver these hampers to us. I knew this event from my friends, but never thought of actually receiving one. We feel satisfied and pleased of it,” the receivers quoted.

In a duration of three hours, the event ended with all helpers wiping their sweats with an unforgettable memory to bring home with.

Although this event will be held yearly, there were already plans for the upcoming year.

“I hope that we could get more people to be involved in this meaningful event,” Hong stated.
